Dubai, Aug. 30 -- Smriti Mandhana went past New Zealand legend Suzie Bates, becoming the second-highest run-getter in women's international cricket of all time.

Mandhana achieved this feat during their women's Asia Cup opener against Thailand. While the dashing left-hander was dismissed for just 19 in 10 balls, with four boundaries, it was enough for her to leapfrog Bates.

Now, Smriti has scored 10,756 runs in international cricket. In 172 T20Is and 166 innings, she has 4,557 runs at an average of 30.17 and a strike rate of 125.36, including a century and 35 fifties, where she is the second-highest run-getter in the format.
