New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The Special Lok Adalat at the Supreme Court of India settled more than 400 cases on its first day, on August 21, as part of Samadhan Samaroh 2026 - Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonisation Across the Nation.

Held under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, the Special Lok Adalat commenced on Friday and will continue for two days, culminating on August 23.

The initiative aims to facilitate amicable settlement of pending disputes and provide litigants an opportunity to resolve their cases through dialogue and consent, stated a press release issued by the Supreme Court.
