Chandigarh, Aug. 31 -- Social media influencer Manjit Kaur was three and a half months pregnant when she passed away in hospital after allegedly being abducted and taken to Morinda in Punjab, where she was allegedly assaulted, tied to a tree and set on fire, according to Chandigarh Police.

The case came to light when Manjit Kaur's mother, Kanta Devi, lodged a complaint on August 26, stating that her daughter was kidnapped by three or four individuals from Sector 34 and taken towards Morinda.

Chandigarh Deputy Superintendent of Police (South) Gurjeet Kaur told ANI that the postmortem examination revealed that the social media influencer was three months pregnant before she passed away after treatment at PGIMER hospital in Chandigarh.
