New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson KC Venugopal arrived on Tuesday for a key meeting of the committee, with the transfer of levies and cess collections to designated funds among the issues on the agenda.

The meeting will begin with a briefing by Audit, followed by oral evidence from representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the subject of "Short transfer of levies and cess collections to designated funds".

The issue is being examined in connection with Para 3.3.1 of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) Report No. 6 of 2026.
