Islamabad, Sept. 10 -- A new report by Amnesty International on Tuesday has revealed that Pakistan's growing mass surveillance and online censorship infrastructure is being powered by a global web of technology companies based in China, Europe, North America, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The report, titled "Shadows of Control", documents how sophisticated surveillance tools are being deployed in the country with the assistance of foreign firms, allowing Pakistani authorities to monitor, censor, and control digital communication at an unprecedented scale.
