Balochistan, April 3 -- Despite claims of an overall reduction in violence across Pakistan in the first quarter of 2026, the security situation in Balochistan has sharply worsened, raising serious concerns about the state's counterinsurgency narrative, as reported by The Balochistan Post.

According to The Balochistan Post, a recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies reveals that violent incidents in Balochistan have more than doubled, recording a 104 per cent increase.

Fatalities in the province surged from 217 to 443, marking the deadliest quarter in over a decade. The province alone accounted for 55 per cent of all violence-related deaths nationwide.
