Lahore, Oct. 4 -- Reported cases of rape and gang rape in Lahore have recorded a notable increase this year, with police data showing a rise in incidents during the first eight months compared with the same period in 2025. The figures point to a worrying trend in the provincial capital, as reported by Samaa TV.

According to Samaa TV, Lahore registered 498 rape cases between January and August this year, compared with 413 cases during the corresponding period last year. This represents an increase of around 20 per cent.
