Varanasi, Oct. 9 -- The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is stepping up efforts to help small and medium-sized businesses in Uttar Pradesh access stock market funding, as 764 companies across India have listed on its NSE Emerge platform, collectively raising over Rs 24,520 crore.

As part of this initiative, NSE, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government and Kotak Mahindra Bank, conducted an interactive workshop titled "Idea to IPO" in Varanasi on October 8 to educate entrepreneurs about raising capital through public listings.

According to NSE, the 764 companies listed on its Emerge platform have a combined market capitalisation of approximately Rs 2.78 lakh crore.
