New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- A group of 53 Indian nationals who had been stranded on the Chinese side of the India-Nepal border reached Kathmandu on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

The group includes 37 people from Maharashtra, who were stranded in Tibet while returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra amid the devastating flash floods in Nepal.

As many as 395 citizens from Maharashtra are stranded in the flood-hit Nepal-Tibet region, while contact has been established with 325 of them and they are reported to be safe, as of 1 pm on Friday, according to the state government.
