Gwalior, June 30 -- A domestic dispute between a couple in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district turned violent after a woman allegedly poured boiling water on her husband, leaving him with burn injuries, a police officer said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the Pichhor Tiraha locality under the jurisdiction of Dabra City police station in the district on the afternoon of June 27. The man's father also sustained burns while trying to intervene.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jayraj Kuber said the complainant, identified as 30-year-old Bhupendra Singh Kushwaha, approached the police alleging that his wife had thrown hot water on him during an altercation.
