Thiruvananthapuram, July 22 -- The mortal remains of veteran CPI(M) leader and former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan were taken to the Durbar Hall in the Secretariat on Tuesday for public homage.

VS Achuthanandan passed away on Monday evening at the age of 101. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Earlier today, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan visited the residence of the late Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and former CM VS Achuthanandan to pay tribute to him.

State Minister V Sivankutty also arrived to pay tribute to the late VS Achuthanandan.
