Washington DC, May 16 -- Michael Fassbender, who is known for portraying the role of Magneto in X-Men, is in negotiations to join the 'Brutalist' director Brady Corbet in his next mystery film, reported Variety.

According to Variety, the film is rumoured to be called 'The Origin of the World'. It marks Corbet's follow-up to his highly acclaimed 2024 epic 'The Brutalist', which landed 10 Oscar nominations, including actor for Adrien Brody, cinematography and original score.

Little is officially known about the project. Speaking in late 2025, the director said that it would be an X-rated movie that took place mostly in the 1970s.
