Meeting record 8,748 MW power demand without breakdowns is our real achievement: Delhi Minister Ashish Sood
New Delhi, June 29 -- Delhi successfully met its highest-ever peak power demand of 8,748 MW on Monday, surpassing the previous record of 8,656 MW, with no major power outages or transmission failures, Delhi government's Power Minister Ashish Sood said.
In a statement, Sood said the Capital's power network handled the unprecedented demand seamlessly, attributing the achievement to the government's Power Master Plan and sustained investments in strengthening the transmission and distribution infrastructure.
"Today, Delhi made history by successfully meeting an all-time high peak power demand of 8,748 MW, shattering the previous record of 8,656 MW recorded on June 19, 2024," the minister said.
