New Delhi, Dec. 24 -- A meeting of the Standing Committee was held today under the chairpersonship of Satya Sharma, in which detailed discussions were held on important issues such as pollution control, the problem of stray animals, transfer of teachers, recognition of private schools, and illegally operating hotels, bars and restaurants.

According to the press release, the Committee seriously deliberated on the suggestions given by the councillors present in the meeting and issued clear directions to the concerned officials to ensure concrete, time-bound and result-oriented action.
