Mumbai, Aug. 18 -- Asserting that "no surrogate and misleading ads can be made", Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has said that "a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh can be imposed in the first stage" if the response to notices given to actors Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff over their advertisement for a chewing elaichi brand.

Talking with ANI, Mundhe said there should be an impact of the action taken by FDA against violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

Asked if there had been a delay in giving notices to the three actors, he said there has been some delay but it is better to be late than never.
