Maharashtra: UBT Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray demands 10-day extension for SIR enumeration
Mumbai, July 9 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday met the Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and urged the Election Commission to grant a 10-day extension for enumeration under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.
The UBT Sena leader asked the Maharashtra CEO to address logistical challenges in the enumeration under the SIR exercise, citing heavy rainfall and large-scale redevelopment.
Thackeray said his party has consistently raised concerns over the SIR process and alleged instances of duplicate names in electoral rolls over the past year.
