Belagavi, July 9 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday said the state government is closely monitoring the rainfall situation and crop conditions across North Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters in Belagavi, CM Shivakumar said the inspection tour began from Basavakalyan and covered Bidar and Kalaburagi before reaching Belagavi.

"We need to inspect the rainfall situation and the crops. We have started from Basavakalyan. After completing Basavakalyan, we went to Bidar, and from Bidar to Gulbarga. We have completed that and come. Today we are in Belagavi," he said.
