Kolkata, Aug. 21 -- Jadavpur Police Station on Friday registered a case following a complaint by the Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, alleging that a group of unknown persons and outsiders forcibly entered the campus, indulged in arson and vandalism, and intimidated students and security personnel.

According to a police statement, "A specific case has been started on the complaint of the VC of Jadavpur University."

The police said the Jadavpur Police Station received a written complaint from the Vice-Chancellor on Thursday, alleging that a group of unknown persons and outsiders forcibly entered the university campus after 12.37 am on August 20.
