Tel Aviv, May 3 -- In a major announcement on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country is acquiring two squadrons of advanced aircraft - the F-35 and the F-15IA. In a push towards self-reliance, he added that over the coming decade, Israel will add 350 billion shekels to the defence budget to manufacture these munitions in the country.

The Israeli PM made the remarks in a video message in Hebrew, which was shared on his account.

Netanyahu affirmed the strength of Israel against its adversaries and advocated two principles- strength and independence.
