Tel Aviv, June 26 -- Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Thursday (local time) announced that he will present a proposal at the Israeli government's next meeting on Sunday to officially recognise the 'Armenian Genocide', calling it a "moral and historical obligation," with the resolution to be brought before the Knesset (Israeli parliament) after cabinet approval.

In a post on X, Saar said, "I will bring to the approval of the Israeli government at its next meeting a proposed resolution for the official recognition by the Government of Israel of the Armenian Genocide."
