New Delhi, June 3 -- India's services sector experienced a significant acceleration in growth during May, driven by strengthening demand and an influx of new business volumes. The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services Business Activity Index rose to 59.8 in May from 58.8 in April, signaling the strongest rate of expansion for the sector since last November. Data from the report indicated that healthy economic conditions and new client wins substantially boosted total output.

The Services PMI highlighted a broader recovery in the private sector economy, with the composite output index rising from 58.2 in April to 59.3 in May.
