India's telecom base crosses 1.35 billion in July as broadband, mobile subscriptions rise: TRAI
New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- India's total telephone subscriber base rose by 6.20 million in July 2026 to 1.35 billion, registering a monthly growth of 0.46 per cent, as both wireless and wireline connections expanded, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday. The wireless subscriber base grew 0.46 per cent to 1.31 billion, while wireline connections increased 0.39 per cent to 48.01 million.
Broadband subscriptions continued to expand, rising from 1.09 billion at the end of June to 1.094 billion in July, a monthly growth rate of 0.64 per cent.
