New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- India's residential property prices rose 1.1 per cent sequentially in the first quarter of 2026-27, with Chandigarh, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram emerging as the key cities driving the increase, according to the Reserve Bank of India's House Price Index released on Monday.

The All-India House Price Index (HPI) stood at 117.5 in Q1:2026-27, compared with the previous quarter. The RBI compiles the HPI on a quarterly basis using transaction-level data received from registration authorities. The index, with 2022-23 as the base year, covers 18 major cities.
