India removes export restrictions on wheat, atta and maida
New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- India has removed export restrictions on wheat and durum wheat with immediate effect, while separately allowing free exports of wheat flour and related products, including atta and maida, according to two notifications issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on Monday.
In its notification on wheat, the DGFT revised the export policy for wheat under specified ITC (HS) codes from "Prohibited" to "Free".
"The export policy of Wheat under the above-mentioned HS Codes is revised from 'Prohibited' to 'Free' with immediate effect," the DGFT said in Notification No. 35/2026-27 dated August 24.
