New Delhi, July 25 -- T.K. Anil Kumar, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, assumed charge as Secretary of the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education on July 24.

A former Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development, Kumar brings extensive administrative experience to the new role.

In an X post, the Education Ministry announced, "T.K. Anil Kumar has assumed charge as Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education on 24 July 2026. A 1995-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre and former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, he brings with him extensive administrative experience."
