Peshawar, Oct. 2 -- Nearly nine in 10 low-income households in Peshawar have borrowed money to meet their daily expenses amid rising inflation, while 95.1 per cent of surveyed families said they were struggling to repay their loans, a survey conducted by a Pakistan-based research institute has found.

The findings, cited by Dawn, show that rising prices are putting growing pressure on household finances, with essential commodities and services becoming 35 to 40 per cent more expensive. As many as 48.7 per cent of households in low-income areas described themselves as "severely affected" by inflation.
