Hyderabad, Sept. 6 -- Day 2 of the 6th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2026 produced goals in abundance across all four pools, headlined by a nine-goal thriller in Pool B and a twelve-goal romp in Pool D.

In Pool B's standout contest, Comptroller and Auditor General of India held off a spirited Punjab and Sind Bank fightback to win 5-4. Manjeet struck twice for CAG, with Thrishul Ganapathi H, Deepak and skipper Parmod also finding the target. Punjab & Sind Bank were far from disgraced, with Gautampal Singh (C), Yuvraj Singh, Prabhdeep Singh and Singh Sukhwinder all getting on the scoresheet in a losing cause.
