Shimla, May 22 -- Justice (Retd.) Chander Bhushan Barowalia, Lokayukta of Himachal Pradesh, called on Governor Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan on Friday, the release said.

On the occasion, Justice (Retd.) Chander Bhushan Barowalia presented the Annual Report of the Lokayukta Office to the Governor and held detailed discussions on the functioning of the institution and various matters related to public interest.

The Himachal Pradesh Governor, Kavinder Gupta, stressed the significant role of the Lokayukta institution in a democratic system. He said that it plays a vital role in strengthening transparency, accountability and good governance.
