Dharamshala, Aug. 12 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has imposed a Widow and Orphan Cess of 60 paise per litre on petrol and diesel. Following the imposition of the cess, petrol prices in Dharamshala have increased by up to 71 paise per litre, while diesel prices have risen by 69 paise per litre, according to the information provided. Meanwhile, the state government has also imposed a milk cess on electricity bills.

Speaking to ANI, a local taxi owner, Anoop, said that this is an extra burden on him. Though the government has done it for a good purpose, this will affect his income. It is becoming very hard to earn even a thousand rupees in a day.
