Govt of India, ADB sign USD 230 million loan agreement to upgrade Chennai's water and sanitation systems
Chennai, Aug. 21 -- The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today, signed a USD 230 million loan agreement to modernise and expand water supply and sanitation infrastructure across Chennai.
The engagement between the Government of India and the ADB for finalising the loan took place under the guidance of Baldeo Purushartha, Joint Secretary (ADB & Japan) at the Department of Economic Affairs, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The formal loan agreement was signed by Saurabh Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Government of India, and Mio Oka, Country Director of the India Resident Mission, representing the ADB.
