Paris, July 13 -- Marking a decade since the 2016 Nice terror attack, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the France-Spain FIFA World Cup match will begin with a minute of silence in memory of the victims.

He expressed gratitude to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for backing France's request. On July 14, 2016, a truck rammed into a large crowd that was celebrating Bastille Day in Nice.

At least 86 people, including children, were killed, and over 430 people were injured. The driver was shot dead by police.

France and Spain will lock horns on July 14 (local time) in the first semi-final of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
