New Jersey, June 23 -- Norway striker Erling Haaland has downplayed his side's chances of winning the FIFA World Cup 2026, saying he remains focused rather than lifting the trophy.

Norway defeated Senegal 3-2 after Haaland fired a sensational brace, his second in the ongoing tournament.

Speaking to reporters after Norway secured qualification in the knockout stages of the ongoing global tournament, Haaland said he was not concerned about future opponents, even suggesting that France could go on to win the tournament.

"I don't care, we are through. They (France) will probably beat us and go on and win the whole tournament," Haaland said when asked about facing the French side in their final Group match, as quoted by Reuters.
