Zurich, Aug. 9 -- FIFA has strongly defended its President, Gianni Infantino, alleging that there is a coordinated effort to undermine both the world football governing body and its leadership, while reaffirming its commitment to democratic processes and governance.

In a statement posted on X by FIFA Media, a FIFA spokesperson said the organisation would not support, facilitate or tolerate any process concerning the election of the FIFA President that is inconsistent with FIFA's statutes, democratic procedures and established governance framework.
