Exiled Tibetans urge BRICS leaders to look into the international laws, discuss human rights situation in Tibet
Dharamshala, June 22 -- Tibetan leaders in exile have urged the government of India and the BRICS countries to discuss the issue of Tibet as New Delhi hosts the BRICS National Security Advisers' Meeting on 22-23 June 2026.
On the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to India, Tsering Chomphel, president of Tibetan Youth Congress, told ANI, "We are very concerned that he is visiting the BRICS Summit. On the sidelines, they are also discussing the India-China border issue. We urge that unless the Tibet issue is resolved, there will be no resolution to the border dispute. So we urge the government of India to speak more on Tibet's freedom and independence."
