Oslo, Sept. 8 -- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled a 200-million-euro investment package for Greenland during an official visit to Nuuk, designed to bolster cooperation between the European Union and the territory.

According to a press release issued by the European Commission, the Global Gateway Partnership Package is slated to support investments across Greenland throughout 2026 and 2027.

Formal proceedings in Nuuk on Monday (local time) saw von der Leyen, Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen execute a joint declaration to reinforce their partnership.
