New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- A political row erupted on Wednesday after an Indian Express report claimed that two Election Commissioners had raised objections multiple times over decisions related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and electoral roll procedures, with Opposition leaders demanding action against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, while the BJP defended the Election Commission of India (ECI), saying internal deliberations were part of democratic functioning.

According to the report, "Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected at least 14 times over the last 10 months to decisions taken and orders issued without their knowledge."
