New Delhi, July 2 -- Light rain accompanied by scattered thunderstorms lashed several parts of the national capital on Thursday morning, bringing much-needed respite from the sweltering heat and humidity.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city recorded temperatures of around 28-29degC early in the day, with high humidity levels reaching up to 95 per cent. Light winds also accompanied the early morning showers across the city.

The weather department has also forecast Thursday's maximum temperature to remain in the range of 32degC to 34degC, along with light rain and gusty winds.
