New Delhi, April 8 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed the plea moved by Christian Michel James, challenging Article 17 of the UAE-India Extradition treaty. He is an accused in the Augusta Westland Chopper deal corruption and money laundering case.

Division bench of justices Navin Chawla and Ravinder Dudeja dismissed the plea and said, "We find no merit in the petition." The detailed order of judgement is to be uploaded by the High Court.

Michel had claimed that the investigation agency had violated Section 21 of the Extradition Act by invoking Section 467 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He had claimed that he had undergone the maximum sentence during the court proceedings and should therefore be released from custody. Howeve...
