New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- A city court has issued a notice to the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), directing that an inquiry into a rape complaint against Nagina Member of Parliament (MP) Chandrashekhar Azad be completed before the next date of hearing, after rejecting Delhi Police's request for more time.

The order was passed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Neha Mittal at the Rouse Avenue Court. The court listed the matter for further hearing on October 23.

The complainant, a woman, had previously lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, alleging that Azad raped her under the false pretext of marriage, along with charges of cheating.
