Geneva, Oct. 29 -- The World Health Organization (WHO) and The Lancet have sounded a stark warning that continued inaction on climate change is claiming millions of lives each year and threatening global health, economies, and livelihoods.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the organisations called for urgent recognition of health as the most powerful driver of climate action.

The warning comes with the release of the 2025 Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, produced in collaboration with WHO.
