India, Sept. 3 -- New Delhi [India] September 3 (ANI) In a major bureaucratic rejig, the Central government on Thursday promoted six 1995-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officers holding senior ranks in different Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal for the appointment of these senior IPS officers. Five of these IPS officers were promoted to the post of Special Director General (Special DG) in the CAPFs and one as Special Director in the IB.
