Mumbai, June 20 -- The Maharashtra government is going to appeal the acquittal in the Pawanraje Nimbalkar double murder case, deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Saturday.

According to Dy CM Shinde, him, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis talked with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who gave the instructions to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file an appeal in the case.

"I myself, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, have spoken with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah ji has stated that the CBI will appeal this decision in the High Court and contest the case. The Union Home Minister has issued these instructions to the CBI," Shinde told ANI here.
