New Delhi, March 10 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday asked Tamilaga Vettri Kazagham chief Vijay to appear for questioning in Karur stampede case on March 15.

This comes after earlier on Monday, Vijay had sought a 15-day extension for his questioning and arranged it in Chennai or some nearby place.

The Karur stampede case was transferred to the CBI from a state-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) following an order from the Supreme Court, which emphasised the need for an independent and impartial probe.
