Brasilia, Oct. 4 -- More than 158 million Brazilian voters are heading to the polls on Sunday, October 4, for the country's general elections, with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva seeking a fourth, non-consecutive presidential term against Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

Voters will elect the president and vice-president, governors, senators, federal deputies and state or district deputies. Voting is scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm Brasilia time across the country.
