The Hague, May 17 -- Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten on Saturday said that India and the Netherlands attach great importance to democracy, good governance and a rules-based international order, while highlighting the importance of cooperation between trusted partners during times of global uncertainty.

Following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jetten posted on X saying that two leaders discussed a range of global and bilateral issues, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on energy prices. The Dutch Prime Minister noted that the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz has led to rising energy prices, severely affecting both India and the Netherlands.
