Bengaluru, Aug. 16 -- Five people were killed after a fire broke out in a plastic mat shop in Bengaluru's Nagarathpete on Saturday.

According to the officials, the incident broke out at 3 pm today.

The deceased have been identified as Suresh, Madan, Sangeeta, and two children, Mitesh and Vihaan.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara visited the incident site.

Speaking to ANI, Parameshwara termed it "an unfortunate incident", asserting that he will speak to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for compensation.
