Dhaka, July 21 -- BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey said that Bangladesh, as the current chair, may host the next summit in 2027 to mark the 30th anniversary of the regional organisation.

Speaking with the media, Pandey noted that the 30th anniversary aligns with the final year of Bangladesh's chairmanship.

"Celebration and then related matter of whether we can hold a summit. It's a very good coincidence that the 30th anniversary year, 2027, will also be the second and final year for the chairmanship of Bangladesh. So, the summit that Bangladesh might decide to host next year, so that's coincide, that summit would certainly be a very special summit because it would then coincide with the 30th anniversary celebration," Pandey s...
