Auckland: India, New Zealand naval chiefs discuss maiden bilateral exercise in 2027
Auckland, Sept. 14 -- Indian Navy Chief Admiral Krishna Swaminathan held substantive discussions on Monday with New Zealand's Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Garin Golding, covering strategic topics including plans for an inaugural bilateral naval exercise scheduled for 2027.
"During his visit to New Zealand, Adm Krishna Swaminathan, CNS, held substantive discussions with RAdm Garin Golding, Chief of Navy, New Zealand Navy," the Indian Navy stated on X.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation under the existing bilateral maritime security framework, boosting operational ties, and improving maritime information-sharing mechanisms between the two forces, the Indian Navy noted.
