Guwahati, July 28 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for personally monitoring the flood situation in the state, while the Indian Air Force (IAF) said it had rescued 458 stranded people and delivered over nine tonnes of relief supplies across flood-affected areas of Assam and Nagaland over the past 10 days.

In a post on X, Sarma expressed gratitude to PM Modi for taking regular on-ground updates and assured that the state government was working on a "war footing" to provide relief to affected residents.
