Asian Games 2026: India eyes record medal haul in Aichi-Nagoya
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- India will aim for its record-breaking performance at the Hangzhou Asian Games as the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 get underway in Japan from September 19 to October 4, according to Olympics.com.
The continental showpiece will feature athletes from 45 countries and regions competing across 43 sports.
India clinched a record 107 medals at Hangzhou 2023, including 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze, and will look to better its performance in Aichi-Nagoya.
Although Olympic and world champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will miss the Games after withdrawing due to an ankle injury, India's contingent will feature five individual Olympic medallists.
